1. Why does Source (N) require Project Managers on every project?

We have learned that in order to deliver on time someone has to be responsible for the timeline. A well trained PM is worth their weight in gold. Nothing builds confidence like delivering an application as designed and on-time. We will not skimp on adding resources to any project especially when it comes to managing the project.

2. How do you find and train your developers?

It all starts at the top with our Managing Partners. Both of our co-founders are incredibly deep with degrees in Molecular Biology and EECS. As such, at our core we believe in hiring only brilliant team members. As with any great company if the core is solid and talented it attracts other talented folks. Having top talent early on helps simplify the recruitment process. In addition, our developers are paired up and have to bid to get awarded work which makes for a very intellectually competitive environment.

3. What is Source(N)’s development philosophy?

We employ SCRUM as our development model If you have not heard of it go to Wikipedia and check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrum_(development)

4. Why should I hire Source(N)?

Our team was there for Web 1.0, we are in the middle of Web 2.0 and have worked on what are considered some of the basis for Web 3.0 (Semantic Web). Our technical depth across both Enterprise and Web Applications affords us a unique perspective for a firm with only 100+ employees. In order to find the bench strength we have built at Source(N) you would have to hire one of the Big 5 Consulting shops to replicate our unique staff.

5. How long does it take for Source (N) to spin up on a project?

We can be up and running within a week on most projects. As fast as you can get us the scope we can bid it. We pride ourselves on being quick on the uptake.

Social Communities can be a great source of increased website traffic. But we have found that most ‘home-made’ social sites are under delivering what they were hoping to bring to their firms. Not only where they not bringing the righ kind of kinds of visitor but they were also not returning to the site and contributing anything to the “conversation”.
By contrast, our clients typically experience overall increase of single instance visitors to repeat community contributors that is 4-6 times greater than their competitors performance, without increasing their community operating costs.
Our Community building services include:

Detailed target community user research- its key to know who your user will be and design the site accordingly.

Effective community monitoring and setup services- we help you figure out if your community is delivering the results you expected.

Advanced tracking of topics, wiki’s and topic experts to ensure your one off conversations are captured and leveraged for all to access.

Consistent platform performance- this site reflects on your brand and should be reliable- with Jive Software’s Enterprise solution this is assured!

On-going content strategy updating to make sure the “conversation” with you clients is a live and well.

The SourceN Results Difference

We understand how to design, implement and launch communities. That means that we won’t hesitate to dive in head first to help your community be successful after launch.

We provide detailed launch plans to ensure your project is on target, on time and in-budget. You’ll know exactly what we’ve been working on, and when your community is going to launch.

We will share best practices to reduce your learning curve. Its one thing to just put the “Social Community Plumbing” in its quite another to get your clients and employees to start communicating.

Effective community building is both an art and a science. A ‘good looking’ social website is not enough to convert visitors into contributors.

We have found that high participation rates are possible, and have developed and refined a six-point methodology to address the essential components that turn social visitors into community contributors:

If you include these key elements your community will have a greater chance of success:

the ability to become self-involved online, and to relate through social media to others (mediated presence)

expectations of future interaction (commitment)

a sense of self and a (self) perception of how they look to others (validation)

an intention to sharing their professional and/or personal interests (social motivation)

relationships they maintain online (social networks)

trust and confidence in the system (competence)

In implementing these tenants, we offer a-la-carte services as well as full project engagements. Based on your situation, we’ll tailor a solution to fit your goals and budget.

Few on-line communities fulfill their potential as as self sustaining eco-systems to our clients. In fact, many companies settle for no real return-on-investment from their on-line social websites. But we have found that when properly implemented, a social website can become a powerful resource forgenerating communication between you and your clients.
There are two key factors in having a successful social community website:

Deliver relevant content

Convert visitors into contributors

Neither of these situations tends to arise by accident. You need a robust, proven strategy for accomplishing both parts of this equation.
According to research, typical social websites have contribution rates of between 6-12% of the visitors that sign-in. We specialize in developing sites that far out-perform the average. In fact, our clients generally experience participation rates of 14 -28% and sometimes even higher.
